As more people become used to using the Internet as an everyday tool, it is becoming more important to have some form of web site to represent your company and to provide at least basic information about you, your products and services. When searching for a service or product many customers will now skip past suppliers without that magic "www.xyz.co.uk" address. Experience has taught them that it is going to take them longer to find out about you if they have have to pick up the phone. In addition, by being able to add a web site address to your advertising and business cards, your potential customers can easily and instantly access a wealth of up-to-date information that would be expensive to present in normal printed format.
Web design can be expensive - but it is 'horses for courses'. Many web design companies prefer to deal with large companies and are not too interested in small/medium sized local businesses. At 321 Webdesign we specifically target small businesses and by keeping everything simple and straightforward we can keep our costs and overheads to a minimum.
We will talk to you to understand your broad requirements. We can also offer guidance on the best approach to the design of your site. Once we have an idea of what you are looking for, we will create an initial draft version of your web site for you to review and comment on. The draft site will then be amended based on your feedback. Normally after a couple cycles of change/review/comment your web site will be ready. This is all included in the pre agreed charges.
This depends on the size and complexity of the site, but a simple site of 5 or less pages should be completed in between one to two weeks.
What do I need to supply for my web site and its design?
The
textual content and images for the site should ideally be provided by
you as these will be a reflection on your business. You may also have a
company logo and colour scheme that you want to be incorporated into
the site. The site's banner and buttons can also be
modeled to match you logo and colours. Alternatively for a small
additional charge, we can develop a logo and colour scheme for you.
You
may also have a clear idea on how your web site will look and be structured, but
if not, we can work with you to create a suitable design and structure. A good
starting point for this is to review any existing marketing material
you already have.
Ideally these should be provided in an electronic format such as email, memory stick or CD. Hand written or typed text and/or printed images/logos can also be processed though there is an additional charge to cover the overheads from transferring this to an electronic format suitable for your web site.
Search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN use special programs to automatically find and index web site pages. The search engine then stores the words used on the website and when someone subsequently searches for them, it will produce a page of search results. Naturally those sites which appear nearer to the top of the search results are going to receive more traffic. There are a number of techniques which can help to maximise where your page appears when a search is made using key words associated to your site. Your site will be optimised using these techniques as part of the site creation process.
